Korhan is a native of Turkey, with a passion for food and for sharing the flavours, beauty and history of his country with others. Although originating from Cappadocia in Central Anatolia, Korhan lived in many cities in Turkey before returning to Nevsehir in Cappadocia to complete his university studies in Tour Guiding. As a professionally licensed tour guide, he has worked for more than five years right across Turkey for a number of well-known international travel providers. Not only did Korhan grow up eating the traditional foods of Turkey, but he has also enjoyed recommending these to his guests. Korhan has much experience in advising restaurants and food markets to his guests in numerous cities and villages in Turkey, giving him a thorough insight into the local flavors of each region and ensuring he is well-versed in Turkish food culture. He is now excited to share his love of Turkish food with others, and finds it quite an easy task to accompany his guests to the types of marketplaces that he was shopping at with his grandparents as a young boy.
Leisa is a newly-turned Turk, originally from Australia. With a lifelong love of food and travel, she loves to experience and uncover new cuisines and try cooking new recipes. After studying Tourism Management in Australia, she worked primarily in Marketing and Management, before her passion for travel saw her relocate to Turkey. Since residing in Istanbul, she has delighted in exploring the city’s markets and restaurants in depth, and in learning to cook local Turkish food. Safe to say, she has truly fallen in love with both Istanbul and the foods of Turkey. Leisa is excited to introduce visitors to Turkey to the amazingly tasty and simple Turkish food.
